Parkway Drive are halfway done recording next album

ParkwayDrive_Sept2016_BenWrigley_HiRes.jpg.1200x630_q90_crop

It’s hard to believe that Brisbane, Australia’s Parkway Drice released their latest record Ire nearly two years ago. But good news surfaced today, as the band revealed that they are about 70 percent of the way through recording new material.

In a recent interview done with MoreCore.TV, the metal warriors also noted that they’d be back in the studio very soon to finish up the process. Watch the full snippet below. (via Lambgoat)

The members of Parkway also commented on the band’s growth in their new music as compared to previous albums. One key word that vocalist Winston McCall used was “refinement.”

“It’s a bit of everything. It’s everything… I think the best way to describe it… it’s refinement,” McCall elaborated. “I think ideas that we’ve had in the past that are new, we’ve gone even further with new ideas, but things that we’ve always loved about the band we’ve just made sharper and more aggressive and have more impact and more statement to them. So, we’re not leaving things behind, but we’re definitely not staying in the same place.”

So how soon can we expect new a new Parkway Drive album? Seems like it’s just over the Horizons

VANNA Announces Breakup & Farewell Tour

ee15c0a555da47d738642f7174cb532453689a53After 13 years as a band and a bunch of solid and varying records, Vanna has decided to call it a day. The band posted the following statement, which really doesn’t go into detail as to why they’re hanging it up, though maybe they just don’t want to talk about it right now.

“Our band has always strived to take the negative in our lives and use it to fuel positive change. To foster good in a world that can be so bad. That and to cause the biggest ruckus with our fans while doing so. The relationship we share with you all and with our music has brought us to places we never dreamed of going; countries we never thought we’d step foot on, stages we only dreamed of playing. But the biggest impression left is the overwhelming sense of family that this scene has given us and let us be a part of. It’s helped us become the men we are today and, in a way, is partly responsible for different parts of our lives blossoming. After touring for over 10 years, living our lives on the road and on the stage, it’s time for us to go chase those other dreams that may have waited on a shelf. We’ve started families, careers, and new lives all the while spending our nights sweating in a club or a Warped Tour parking lot with you and those sides of us and our lives need attention as much as Vanna did. Words can’t begin to express what you have all done for us. In keeping with always sharing ourselves with you, we now turn to you to share one last time with us. Let’s make this tour a celebration of every moment and memory as well as make a bunch of new ones with some amazing friends and bands. Come sing your hearts out and inevitably cry your eyes out with us as we leave a little piece of Vanna on every stage. This isn’t goodbye forever, it’s just a ‘we’ll see you around’. Our music will be here whenever you need it, we truly love you and we will miss you all. But remember, all good things must come to an end, but all good things can begin again. Viva Vanna”

LAMB OF GOD Going On Hiatus After Tour Ends!

15622405_10155009599291435_6921003481883850783_n

Lamb Of God‘s past few years have been nothing short of insane. Vocalist Randall Blythe was arrested in 2012 for accidentally harming a fan in the Czech Republic, who later died from his injuries, and was later acquitted of the charges in 2013.

The band went on “hiatus” after that, but was secretly working on VII: Sturm und Drang in 2014, which dropped in 2015. Lamb Of God has been, on tour ever since then, and Blythe says it’s time to really go on hiatus after their  upcoming tour with Slayer and Behemoth is over.

Here’s the rather lengthy statement given to Sixx Sense (below), though what else do you expect from Blythe? If there’s one thing the dude is, it’s extremely thorough in his points being made.

“I got out of prison and immediately went on tour, because I had five lawyers and they were just hemorrhaging money like crazy. I went from jail to home to, ten days later, being at Knotfest to home for a month or two, then out on tour with Lamb Of God, then back to the Czech Republic to go to trial, found not guilty, then come home, then finish up the rest of our tour and finally end in South Africa. And then we took a little time off, but there were some changes in the organization and they started writing another record and we need to make money, so it was back in the studio. And it was back on tour again for this last record, and that cycle is not gonna end until August or September of this year, I guess. So it’s just been, like, grinding, grinding, grinding. And when I’m not on the road, I’m working on writing and photography.”

“[These are] things that make me happy. But it’s at a point now where it’s, like, at the end of this tour cycle, it’s gonna be, like, boom, it’s time to take a break for real and concentrate more on writing and being at home with the family. It’s time for me, now, at the end of this… ‘Cause we got off, after I got done with the whole prison thing and then finishing that tour, we got off the road and then we started writing a new record, and then we recorded that record. And we didn’t tell anyone that we were recording — nobody knew. They thought we were just chilling at home, and then we go on tour before the record even comes out.”

So that sucks, but can you really blame them? It doesn’t even sound like Lamb Of God was too stoked on making VII: Sturm und Drang, let alone another record to come out soon.
